Following the latest hearing on the petition regarding female combatants (July 24), it is evident that the position presented by the IDF and the state - both prior to and during the hearing, continues to rely on a "pilot/experimentation" approach. This stance disregards the fact that the petition has been ongoing for four years and fails to acknowledge the undeniable courage demonstrated by female soldiers and commanders on October 7 and throughout the ongoing combat in enemy territories.

There is a stark disparity between the statements declaring the conclusion of the discussion, including those made by the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Defense, and the IDF's continued delay in fully integrating female combatants.

This inconsistency reinforces the petitioners' argument: Why are men not subjected to similar experiments? Why are ultra-Orthodox men, who are about to enlist as combatants, not required to undergo such trials? The IDF must uphold the law, fully leverage the human capital at its disposal, and eliminate barriers preventing women's access to all combat roles based on unfounded claims. We anticipate a High Court ruling in favor of the petition.
